Hello! I’m Magda, the artist behind Crookhaven Art Studio. 

I’m originally from Poznań, Poland, and I moved to Crookhaven in 2006.As soon as I arrived, I fell in love with the coastline’s wild beauty, the Atlantic’s ever-changing moods, the quiet rhythm of life here.. and eventually a local fisherman Jimmy Joe who would become my loving husband. 

Crookhaven became my home, my inspiration, and a place where every day invites discovery and reflection.I trained in fine art, graphic design, painting, and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, earning my Master’s Degree. My artistic journey has taken me to exhibitions, residencies, and exchange programs at global institutions such as the Royal College of Art in London and the Fridericianum Museum in Kassel, Germany.

In 2012, I founded Crookhaven Art Studio to share the inspiration I find in this remarkable landscape. Through my paintings, photographs, and hand-printed apparel, I aim to capture the light, mood, and spirit of Crookhaven and West Cork. I hope you enjoy exploring my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
